Our Powder Coating Process
Fabricated steel truss loading assemblies received to be sandblasted at Mayes Powder Coating and Sandblasting.
Parts are media blasted (if required) and then are inspected and hand prepped to ensure part is clean of old paint, slag, etc. The parts to be powder coated are then loaded on carts to begin the coating process.
From here parts to be coated are moved into our phosphate wash bay with individual attention on each part to ensure it is free of all dirt & oil. The parts are then pre-baked to dry off and prep metal for powder coating.
If the job calls for a primer coat, parts are moved into powder booth for zinc rich primer coat.
From there parts are moved into curing oven until primer has begun to liquefy. After that, we move the parts into powder booth for final top coat. We can do clear coats when needed or requested. Then the parts are moved into curing oven until powder is fully cured. After that, we carefully inspect and package your items for shipping.
